Have you ever had a dream about someone you care for, and in that dream that person hurt, cheated, or wounded you in some way? Upon waking it is difficult to separate the dream from reality. I've had such detailed dreams that it has sometimes taken me a good part of the day to stop feeling angry with that person. Ironic really, when the person is innocent of what my own mind created during my nocturnal story writing.
I've been struggling with something similar for weeks now. Though I won't share the details via this venue- yet, I will admit that I've been frustrated with God over an issue that is of man. Like the morning after a bad dream, I have had to continually remind myself that He is the good guy here. He wants me to have the desires of my heart. He reminds me that He will not leave me. He reminds me that people are watching my reactions, my attitude and my perseverance. My faith has to be greater than my feelings regarding this situation.
My desire is to not confuse or intertwine my disappointment with the Alliance, with my faith and love for God. I'm hoping that my willingness to acknowledge this, will help me keep God's goodness separate from the negative things I'm feeling. My desire is to authentically testify daily: It is well with my soul.
With Faith, ~Shugie
When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales... that fantasy of what life would be. White dress, a prince charming who would carry me away to a castle on a hill. I would lie in bed at night and close my eyes and had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close I could taste them, but one day the fairy tale disappeared. It's hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely because we all have that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day we will open our eyes and it will come true. Then one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. This life, with all of its complexities, may be the fairy tale after all, because the journey is the best part. It's Happily Ever After...right now.
