When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales... that fantasy of what life would be. White dress, a prince charming who would carry me away to a castle on a hill. I would lie in bed at night and close my eyes and had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close I could taste them, but one day the fairy tale disappeared. It's hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely because we all have that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day we will open our eyes and it will come true. Then one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. This life, with all of its complexities, may be the fairy tale after all, because the journey is the best part. It's Happily Ever After...right now.

Keep Calm..... and Laugh til it Hurts!

Cliff notes version of my crazy, fun, never-a-dull-moment week:

Jumped in puddles with Grandgirl.  Laughed until my sides hurt.  Pedicures with all my girls.  Tangled is about to start crawling.  She growled at the priest during her baptism.  Interviewee with a mustache- I think it's a man, but his name is Sally?  Employee has marijuana dispensary business on the side- conflict of interest?  How is your day?, text message to me.  Low performing employee is cautioned, then has heart attack or panic attack- call 9-1-1.  Why can't I watch Al Jazeera television at work?  Lunch must have been good- you smell like weed.  Employee A doesn't like Employee B:  Can you talk to her and make her be my friend?  Approved to work at home one day a week.  Stranger in the parking lot at work called me Sweetie.  Seven mile hike this morning.  Grass cut.  Colorado blue skies all day.  New dress.  *Smiling*

What are you smiling about today?

With Faith and Contentment, ~Shugie
