When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales... that fantasy of what life would be. White dress, a prince charming who would carry me away to a castle on a hill. I would lie in bed at night and close my eyes and had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close I could taste them, but one day the fairy tale disappeared. It's hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely because we all have that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day we will open our eyes and it will come true. Then one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. This life, with all of its complexities, may be the fairy tale after all, because the journey is the best part. It's Happily Ever After...right now.

A late night, glowsticks and 80's music- though not all at once

This was a really, really, good week. As Grandgirl says, It made me feel ecthtatic! Though some are more important than others, here are the reasons why:

1. I moved back into my wonderfully comfortable, not too big, not too small, but jussssssst right for me house. I didn't even want to leave my sanctuary for work on Monday, so I took the day off!

2. Given the chaos of the week, I procrastinated in completing my paper for school (not my usual style). I pulled a late-nighter and turned it in just under the deadline radar, hoping for the best but prepared for, well, the not-so-best. To my surprise, the instructor blessed me with a 99.5% ! Hmmmm....perhaps I work best under pressure??

3. Offspring #1 and his family are coming to visit next week. (Translation: WOOHOO I'll be in Shugie-land for six days!!) I'm already planning on where to get glowsticks for the Grandgirl's bathtub (lots of water in the tub with lights turned off); food color for rainbow spaghetti; shaving cream for fingerpainting on the windows; and popcorn for watching Mickey Mouse (in bed according to Grandgirl)! Trying to figure out how to nicely tell the parents that though I'm so happy to see them too, they could go on a date, if they wanted.....

4. Offspring #2 got a job. Actually, a second job! Lovin' this boy's motivation! And, I'm so excited that he and his brother will be together next week.  When they are together, my world is complete.

5. Silly though it seems, I got my lawnmower working! I tracked down a key at a small engine repair shop, because where I put the original key escapes me at this point.  Then, Big Bro helped me get the battery charged. I'm all ready for some yardwork therapy, complete with iPod and 80's music!

I am thankful, not just because it's Friday, but because it's another day.  Enjoy your weekend~
