You can't finish if you don't get started.

As my brother left my house two weeks ago, those were the words he left me with (Well, after he said "Love you, too sis!" a few times). He was of course referring to starting the 20 hour drive ahead of him. I've considered these words in many different contexts ever since he left.
In the book, Who Moved My Cheese, one of the challenging questions is "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" My mind goes into overdrive.... I'd move to Ireland for a year. I'd buy a new car. I'd go on a sabbatical. Who am I kidding?-- I'd quit my job. I'd get married. I'd be irresponsible (for a while). I'd write a book. I'd go back to school. There are so many things I think about doing, but am reluctant for one reason or another. Apparently, being afraid is what I do. On this side of change, it all feels so overwhelming.
Maybe it's time to get started so that I can finish.
